Fit Friday: Update (week 9)


“The hikers” – Dad’s Amazing Model Railway

Okay, so I’ve recently ramped things up…a lot. I was getting very frustrated with the minimal changes I was seeing. It seemed like no matter what I did, the number on the scale wouldn’t budge, well, that’s not true, it did…but not in the right direction.

This past Sunday I weighed in at 133 lbs, back to where I started from nine weeks ago. This was the last straw. I’ve now eliminated alcohol and sugar (including fruit) and have increased my protein intake. I’ve also changed my fitness routine, increasing my resistance training and adding fun things like skipping(!), squats and more intense Yoga sessions.

I’m feeling a lot better and I am starting to see good changes in my muscle tone in my arms and legs. I’ve always taken pride in my strength (I was the arm wrestling champion of my grade 8 math class – including the boys) and it’s great to start seeing it come back.

 I’m hiking from Wengen to Kleine Scheidegg this afternoon; a 2.5 hour uphill hike. I just can’t get enough of the Jungfrau!
